As a band, we have experimented with multiple genres ranging from country, rock, folk, bluegrass all the way to some indie. Today, we like to describe ourselves as a southern rock band, though we do play songs that can be labeled in a different genre. Our band is composed of four members who met in high school. What started as a small group of friends that enjoyed playing music quickly grew as we started to play different venues in our hometown. The Deer Creek Sharp Shooters were formed in 2012 in Harford County, MD by 6 friends who came together with a common love for bluegrass and a dream to push the limits of acoustic music. Based in Steamboat Springs and Denver, Colorado since 2016, DCSS has found their stride. The Sharp Shooters put on high energy and fun-loving shows, jumping quickly from high paced bluegrass to goofy songs about cats. The energy on stage when these guys get together is infectious. What’s up everyone, WE ARE BENCH: Steamboat’s only original hard rock band. We’re named after the bench outside Schmiggity's, where we all met last fall. In the past nine months, we've come up with a heavy, psychedelic sound mixing influences from the 80s, 90s, and 00s including Deftones, Alice in Chains, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Pickin' On The Dead “core four” evolved over several opportunities to entertain the ubiquitous Deadhead population at WinterWonderGrass Festival, and established itself even further with several long, strange Expeditions with Adrift Dinosaur’s RiverWonderGrass series through the mystical Gates Of Lodore on the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument. National Flatpicking Champ Tyler Grant maneuvers the guitar, accompanied by steadfast bassist Ace Engfer, groove-meister Jake Wolf on drums, & the wildly entertaining Michael Kirkpatrick on mandolin. Lead & harmony vocals are shared among the group, which brings the Grateful Dead experience to an all-new Rocky Mountain High, with no fear of diving into some hot jams & liquid flows.
